CORINTH WOMAN ARRESTED FOR FELONY DRUGS AND OUTSTANDING FELONY WARRANT

On April 24, 2017, the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on HWY 25 in Iuka for improper equipment. During the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle did not have any driver’s license and a further check on the passenger was learned to have an OUTSTANDING FELONY WARRANT in McNairy County Tennessee. The driver along with the passenger was immediately placed under arrest as well as another passenger who gave false information to the deputies, was also placed under arrest. One of the passengers informed the deputy that she had some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE on her possession and did not want to be charged bringing it into a Correctional Facility. At this time, the passenger was able to remove two (2) bags of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE that she had in her pants. This passenger along with the others was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
KAREN CARTER, 35-year-old, white female, of CR 220 Corinth, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). CARTER remains in custody at the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set by Justice Court. A “hold” was also placed on CARTER for the OUTSTANDING FELONY WARRANT.
