BURNSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
July 7, 2017
On July 7, 2017, the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department was dispatched by 911 to 148 CR 265 in Burnsville of a possible deceased person in the residence. Once on scene, deputies had to force entry into the home and came upon the deceased person. Another person was found lying in the floor close to the body. Deputies leaned that the deceased person was 59-year-old, VICKI PETERS, of the same residence. Her husband, 60-year-old, Delmer Peters, was awaken and was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Corinth to see if he was injured.
The preliminary investigation indicates that VICKI PETERS did not die of natural causes and so the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department is treating this as a criminal matter. Delmer Peters was discharged by the hospital and was then brought to the Tishomingo County Jail. Delmer Peters is being charged with 1ST DEGREE MURDER and investigators are working with the District Attorney’s Office to have him held without bond, due to Delmer Peters being out on a FELONY BOND for ARSON.
The body will be taken to the MS Crime Laboratory for an autopsy by Tishomingo Coroner, Mack Wilemon.
