SAFETY CHECK-POINT LEADS TO DRUG ARREST IN BURNSVILLE

On October 14, 2017, deputies with the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office along with officers with the Burnsville Police Department, conducted a Safety Check-Point around the Jefferson Street area in Burnsville. During the check-point, a driver approached the officers and deputies and it was determined that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was immediately arrested and when the officers arrived at the Tishomingo County Jail, some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was found on his person.
ANDY CRAIG SIMMONS, 25-year-old, black male of 29 CR 157 Tishomingo, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) and FELONY INTRODUCTION OF NARCOTICS INSIDE A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. SIMMONS’ remains in custody at the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set.
