MISSING 14-YEAR-OLD BOY

**UPDATE**

**UPDATE** December 7, 2017 - The Tishomingo Sheriff's Office would like to inform the public that Jacob has been found!  He was found just a short time ago in a barn.  Jacob is currently been checked by medical personnel that is on scene, but seems to be healthy considering the situation.  We will update this with more information as it comes available.  Sheriff John Daugherty would like to say "Thank You" to all those that came and helped in the search!  Without this help and support from so many individuals in the community and different state and local agencies, this may would had a different ending.

Thank You

Sheriff John Daugherty

The Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in locating a 14-year-old boy, that goes by the name of Jacob Monroe of 618 CR 992 Iuka.

Jacob’s mother informed the Sheriff’s Office, that her son was born with a condition called “Fetal Alcohol Syndrome” and it has caused his mind to not fully develop.  The mother also reported her son went missing last night at around 10 pm.  Jacob is believed to have left on his own but did not have any shoes.  A search of the immediate area along with other family members residences turned up nothing.

Jacob is described as 5’4” approximately 100 lbs., white male that is 14 years old.  He has braces with pink bands on them.  Jacob was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt and blue jeans.  Jacob and his family live in the Midway Community around what is locally known as Rock Crusher Road.

Currently a search team is in the area made up of first responders which includes medical personnel as well as law enforcement.  K9 is coming to assist in the search as well.  Due to the immediate cold temperatures, the search team is attempting to quickly locate Jacob, knowing he isn’t properly dressed for the conditions.

The Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office will update the MEDIA on this situation as the day progresses.
