TWO CHARGED FOR INTRODUCTION OF NARCOTICS INTO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

On January 5, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Beachum Road in Iuka for improper equipment and erratic driving. During the traffic stop, deputies could smell an odor of MARIJUANA coming from the vehicle while speaking with the occupants. A search was conducted of the vehicle and some alleged MARIJUANA was found in a box along with two pistols in the glove box. Both the driver and the passenger were then arrested and transported to jail. Once at the jail, one of the Suspects tried to throw some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE on the ground and then more alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was found on his body by the corrections staff and deputies. The other Suspect attempted to hid some alleged MARIJUANA in the jail and was also caught.
- DUSTIN LEATHERWOOD, 21-year-old, black male of 100 North Young Street Corinth, Mississippi was officially charged with INTRODUCTION NARCOTICS INTO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. LEATHERWOOD remains in custody at the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting his bond to be set.
- KIMG MCGEE, 38-year-old, black male of 103 Mockingbird Lane Booneville, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), INTRODUCTION OF NARCOTICS INTO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, FELONY TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE, POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON. MCGEE remains in custody at the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting his bond to be set as well.
Deputies also seized a large amount of cash and two firearms during the arrest. Both Suspects are currently out on bond from other counties. This case will be presented to the next Grand Jury.
