ARRESTS FOR WARRANTS LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

Over the past few days, deputies for the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office has arrested three Suspects and have charged them with not only FELONY drug charges, but other charges as well:
- January 16, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff John Daugherty and his deputies responded to a call from the home owner wanting some people removed from the property. One of the individuals that was on the property had a WARRANT for their arrest and while arresting the individual, deputies found a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE on their person. The Suspect was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- KENNETH SIDES, 33-year-old, white male of 1002 HWY 25 South, Tishomingo, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). SIDES’ bond was set by Justice Court at $3,500.00.
- January 17, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop in front of a business in Iuka, due to the deputies knowing that the driver of the vehicle had a WARRANT for their arrest. Deputies arrested the driver and during a search, some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was found on the driver. The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- CHRISTOPHER SMITH, 24-year-old, white male, of 1370 Pike Street Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), FELONY WARRANT – SALE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, and SIMPLE POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. SMITH’s bond was set at $5,000.00 for both the WARRANT and FELONY possession. SMITH is also currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
- January 18, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop in the city of limits of Iuka due to the driver of the vehicle having an outstanding WARRANT for their arrest. Once the deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, the deputy smelt a strong drug odor coming from the vehicle. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and a search yielded some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE as well as alleged MARIJUANA being found in the vehicle. The driver was then arrested and transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- JASON WILLIAM PUCKETT, 34-year-old, white male, of 170 CR 294 Burnsville, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). PUCKETT’s bond was set at $3,500 by Justice Court.
