TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FELONY ARRESTS

Sheriff John Daugherty reports that in February 2018, a SAFETY CHECK-POINT, a red 2000 Chevrolet truck was stopped and the driver was asked for his vehicle insurance card. The driver, Joshua Gregory and passenger, David Croft and according to the deputies both men were acting extremely nervous. Both individuals were arrested due to an open container violation and no insurance. A search incident to arrest yielded weapons being found in the vehicle and also on the passenger. A check on the weapons showed that one of the weapons was reported stolen from the Muscle Shoals, Alabama area. Also, some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was also found on the passenger. Both the driver and passenger were then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
- DAVID ALLEN CROFT, 30-year-old, white male of 92 CR 306 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). CROFT’S bond was set by Justice Court at $2,000.00.
- JOSHUA RAY GREGORY, 33-year-old, white male of 2845 Asphalt Rock Road Cherokee, Alabama was officially charged with two counts of POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON, one count of POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY. GREGORY remains in custody at the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set by Justice Court.
Sheriff Daugherty states that this still an ongoing investigation and more charges could be pending from not only the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office but other agency’s as well.
