DRUG ROUND UP IN TISHOMINGO COUNTY

Over the past couple of weeks, the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office has arrested several people throughout Tishomingo County stemming from a several months long drug investigation.  The Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office would like to publicly thank the police departments of Golden, Belmont, Iuka, Burnsville and Tishomingo as well as the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics in their combined effort in helping catch all the Suspects.  Sheriff John Daugherty states that “By working together, it makes combating crime a lot easier”.  Sheriff Daugherty also stated that “Curbing the sell of drugs also helps reduce the amount of burglaries, thefts, robberies, and other crimes in our county”. 

Sheriff Daugherty would also like to thank those citizens that called and gave tips pertaining to certain drug areas and those that are involved in drug activity.  Without the help from the public it would be a lot harder to combat the selling of narcotics in our community.   The Tishomingo Sheriff’s Office is also currently working with our department Chaplin, to try and get those that have been arrested for the first time for the Possession of Felony Drugs and who also have a drug addiction, into some rehab facilities.  Most of these people involved in drugs are not “bad people”, but rather had made some “bad choices” in life and have to pay the consequences because of those choices.

Sheriff Daugherty finally states that “It’s not about locking people up and throwing away the key”. 

The following list are of those individuals who were indicted by a Grand Jury for the sell or conspiring to sell a narcotic(s).

 

 

  1.       JOSEPH CROSBY – 37-year old, white male of 96 CR 175 Iuka, Mississippi served with 2 counts of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00 / piece.

 

  1.       ALLISON ENGLE – 35-year old, white female of 934 Westwood Circle Iuka, Mississippi served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       CHRISTOPHER GOFORTH – 32-year old, white male of West 3rd Street Iuka, Mississippi served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       MARK CARPENTER – 51-year old, white male of 110 Front Street Burnsville, Mississippi served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (MORPHINE) and 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (OXYCODONE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       BOBBY VOYLES – 40-year old, white male of 116 Jefferson Street Burnsville, Mississippi was charged with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       REBECCA BARNES – 47-year old, white female of 744 HWY 25 Dennis, Mississippi served with 1 count of CONSPIRACY TO SELL A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       PANDA MCRAE – 54-year old, white female of 94 CR 168 Iuka, Mississippi served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       KRISTA MUSGRAVE KELLER – 36-year old, white female of 5B Hill Rd Tishomingo, Mississippi served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       NICHOLAS MCGUFF – 37-year old, white male of 55 CR 247 Iuka, Mississippi served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (SUBOXONE), 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (BUPRENORPHINE), and 1 count of SALE OF CONTERFEIT CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. Bond set by the Grand Jury at $20,000.00.

 

  1.       SHANA BLAKNEY – U/K- year old, female served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       DIAVA CARPTENER – 52-year old, white female of 110 Front Street Burnsville, Mississippi served with 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (MORPHINE) and 1 count of SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (OXYCODONE). Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.

 

  1.       JAMIE SARTAIN – 47-year old, white male of 415B CR 17 Dennis, Mississippi served with 1 count of CONSPIRACY TO SELL A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. Bond set by the Grand Jury at $10,000.00.
