GOLDEN RESIDENTS ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

GOLDEN RESIDENTS ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

June 26, 2018

On June 23, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies with assistance from Belmont Police officers, conducted a traffic stop on Second Street in Belmont for seatbelt violations.  During the course of the traffic stop, deputies learned that the driver had suspended drivers license and was then placed under arrest.  A search of the vehicle turned up some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE that was found inside the vehicle.  Both the driver and the passenger, a white female was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.  While at the jail, the female was searched by female corrections officers and was found to have hidden on her some more alleged METHAMPHETAMINE as well as some pipes.  The corrections staff took possession of the items and a short time later the female became sick and was immediately transported to the hospital, where she was admitted by the medical staff at North Mississippi Medical Center and her condition is unknown.

TRAVIS MILLER, 31-year-old, white male of 276 Pugh Rd Golden, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).  MILLER’s bond was set at $2,000.00 by Justice Court.

CHRISTY PAYNE, 44-year-old, white female of 354 Bennett Rd Golden, Mississippi was released in the custody of the medical staff of the North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.  Both MILLER and PAYNE will be presented to the next available Grand Jury.

Sheriff Daugherty states that this case is still under investigation and would also like to thank the Belmont Police Department for their assistance in this traffic stop.

Sheriff John Daugherty
