BOONEVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH DRUGS AND FLEEING FROM POLICE

October 3, 2018

On October 2, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies along with the Burnsville Police, attempted to stop a vehicle on HWY 365 in Burnsville for Careless Driving.  The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over for approximately two miles, where he finally pulled over into a ditch.  The driver was immediately arrested for failure to yield.  A search of the vehicle conducted by the deputies yielded some prescription medication and some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE.  The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.

SAMMY MCVEY, 46-year-old, white male, of 102 Mill Branch Road Booneville, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), FAILURE TO YIELD – TO EMERGENCY VEHICLES, CARELESS DRIVING, and DUI.  MCVEY will be presented to the next available Grand Jury.

Sheriff John Daugherty
