BOONEVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH DRUGS AND FLEEING FROM POLICE

On October 2, 2018, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies along with the Burnsville Police, attempted to stop a vehicle on HWY 365 in Burnsville for Careless Driving. The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over for approximately two miles, where he finally pulled over into a ditch. The driver was immediately arrested for failure to yield. A search of the vehicle conducted by the deputies yielded some prescription medication and some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE. The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
SAMMY MCVEY, 46-year-old, white male, of 102 Mill Branch Road Booneville, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), FAILURE TO YIELD – TO EMERGENCY VEHICLES, CARELESS DRIVING, and DUI. MCVEY will be presented to the next available Grand Jury.
