TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO SEVERAL FELONY CHARGES
October 8, 2018
On October 7, 2018, deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 72 in the Burnsville area for not displaying a vehicle tag. The deputies noticed as the driver was pulling over, something being thrown from the window of the driver’s side. After the vehicle came to a complete stop, deputies approached the driver and after speaking with the deputies, the driver handed over a pipe that is commonly used to smoke METHAMPHETAMINE. The driver was taken into custody and was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail. Once at the jail, the driver was thoroughly searched and some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was found on the driver, which the driver attempted to hide. The driver then faced several charges for their actions.
HAYLEY MCVAY FRANKS, 36-year-old, white female of 1108 South Pearl Street Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), FELONY TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE, and FELONY INTRODUCTION OF NARCOTICS INTO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.
