STOLEN WEAPON RECOVERED AND IUKA MAN ARRESTED

October 11, 2018

On October 8, 2018, Tishomingo County deputies took a report of a firearm that was stolen from a residence.  The theft occurred sometime that day around the area of CR 172 in Iuka.  Deputies were informed of possible individuals that may be involved and a few hours later, deputies saw a person fitting the description of one of the individuals that may be involved in the theft.  The person took off running on foot and went into the woods.  Deputies followed the person into the woods but did not find them.  However, the deputies did locate the reported stolen firearm and some other items of evidence that they believed to have belonged to the one running.  On October 9, 2018, the individual that is believed to had ran from the deputies and disposed of the evidence, was located and brought to the Tishomingo County Jail.
