TWO BELMONT MEN ARRESTED FOR WARRANTS AND DOPE

On December 5, 2018, Tishomingo County Sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 25 in the Tishomingo area for Careless Driving and Improper Equipment.  While during the traffic stop, deputies learned that both the driver and passenger both had outstanding misdemeanor WARRANTS for their arrest.  As the deputies were arresting the driver and passenger, a search of the vehicle yielded some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE being found in a hidden compartment of the vehicle.  Deputies then transported both to the Tishomingo County Jail.

CHRISTOPHER ALAN WHITFIELD, 35-year-old, white male of 40 Yarber Street Belmont, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).  WHITFIELD’s bond was set by Justice Court in the amount of $3,500.  WHITFIELD also had Fail to Appear Warrant issued through the municipal court of the Town of Burnsville.

JOSHUA SHEA SCOTT, 39-year-old, white male also of 40 Yarber Street Belmont, Mississippi was also officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).  SCOTT’s bond was set by Justice Court in the amount of $2,500.  SCOTT also had a Fail to Appear Warrant issued through the Justice Court of Tishomingo County.
