DRUG INVESTIGATION LEADS TO MULTIPLE ARRESTS
February 11, 2019
On February 7, 2019, Tishomingo County Sheriff deputies and narcotic investigators conducted a traffic stop on CR 957 in Tishomingo County, due to an ongoing drug investigation between the State of Alabama and Mississippi. Sheriff officials state that the investigation was tied to the driver and the passenger of the stopped vehicle. During the traffic stop, deputies learned that the driver had suspended driver’s license and a search of the vehicle by the deputies yielded approximately 43 Suboxone pills being found, that were hidden under the dash of the vehicle. The passenger had outstanding FELONY WARRANTS for his arrest from the State of Alabama. Deputies then transported both the driver and passenger to jail. Once at the jail, the driver attempted to hid a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE in the deputy’s vehicle, but was caught by the deputy. Corrections staff then conducted a search of the driver and found more alleged METHAMPHETAMINE as well as some alleged MARIJUANA hidden on the driver.
Investigators then obtained a Search Warrant for the residence that both the driver and passenger share. When deputies and investigators arrived, they were met by an adult male and an adult female that was staying at the residence. Deputies also found a female juvenile at the residence as well. The search of the residence yielded more alleged METHAMPHETAMINE as well as scales and pipes. A firearm was also located in one of the bedrooms. The adult male and female were arrested and transported to the Tishomingo County Jail. The juvenile was released to family members.
