TRAFFIC STOP IN BURNSVILLE LEADS TO DRUG ARREST

On February 20, 2019, Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop in Burnsville. The vehicle had left a residence that was under surveillance for drug activity. The deputies were able to stop the vehicle on HWY 72 and as they approached the vehicle, a strong odor of MARIJUANA was coming from the vehicle. Deputies were able to speak with the driver and passenger and learned that the passenger had a WARRANT for their arrest. A search was then conducted on the vehicle and some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was found behind the driver in the back-seat area. Both the driver and passenger were then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
ANTHONY NEAL MODLIN, 54-year-old, white male, of 575 HWY 45 Corinth, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). MODLIN’s bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $3,500.00.
RHONDA GAYE PETERS, 47-year-old, white female, of 15 CR 742 Walnut, Mississippi was also officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). PETERS’s bond was also set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $3,500.00.
