ALCORN COUNTY MAN CAUGHT STEALING A VEHICLE

On March 7, 2019, Tishomingo County 911 advised all agencies of a person that was in the process of stealing a vehicle from a business parking lot in Burnsville. The employees told 911 that they have locked down the business to protect their customers and employees from the Suspect in case he tried to come in. All local and state agencies, that were in the area, responded to the call. Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper arrived on the scene first and was able to detain the suspect as he was in the process of driving away in the stolen vehicle. Tishomingo County deputies as well as Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) officers immediately arrived on scene. The suspect was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
MATTHEW BLAKE VOYLES, 25-year-old, white male of 33 CR 326 Corinth, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY TAKING OF MOTOR VEHICLE. VOYLES remains in the custody of the Tishomingo County Jail where he awaits his bond to be set by Justice Court.
Sheriff Daugherty would like to thank the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Mississippi Department of Transportation with their assistance in this arrest. Sheriff Daugherty states that additional arrests maybe pending due to the investigation being ongoing.
