ROUTINE ARREST TURNS INTO A DRUG ARREST

April 10, 2019

On April 10, 2019, Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 16 in Belmont for not displaying a tag.  During the course of the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle had suspended license.  The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.  Once there, the driver attempted to “chew up” a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE.  Deputies were able to retrieve the alleged narcotic, to which the driver faced additional charges.

LEONARD RAY MARBRY, 51-year-old, white male of 421 CR 16 Belmont, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) and INTRODUCTING NARCOTICS INTO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.  MARBRY remains in the custody of the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court.
