SAFETY CHECKPOINT LEADS TO DRUG ARREST
July 12, 2016
On July 8, 2016, the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department set up a SAFETY CHECKPOINT in the Tishomingo area around County Road 55 and County Road 124. While checking the passenger of one of the vehicles, the deputies learned that the passenger had an outstanding ARREST WARRANT for Iuka Police Department. While the deputies were arresting the passenger, a search of the passenger’s possessions yielded some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE. At this time the driver of the vehicle, gave the deputies a Consent to Search of his vehicle and that search yielded more alleged METHAPHMETAMINE found in the pockets of the driver. Both the driver and passenger were then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail. Names of the arrestees are:
- DANIEL PAUL RYAN, 31-year-old, white male of 1692 HWY 25 Tishomingo, Mississippi and was charged with: POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).
- KEVIN DAWSON, 28-year-old, white male also of 1692 HWY 25 Tishomingo, Mississippi and was also charged with: POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) as well as the ARREST WARRANT for FAIL TO PAY.
Bond for both men was set at $7,500.00 each.
