IUKA MAN CHARGED WITH STOLEN PROPERTY AND FLEEING

On April 18, 2019, the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office along with the Iuka Police Department were in the area of East Quitman Street, looking for an individual that may had been involved in some recent criminal activity. Deputies and officers discovered a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle and was given information that the individual that they were looking for, had been driving the motorcycle and officers had also seen this particular individual driving the motorcycle as well. The officers ran the motorcycles VIN number, which came back STOLEN from the State of Arkansas. The motorcycle was then removed from the property and placed into evidence. On April 27, 2019, deputies were able to arrest the individual that they received information as to being in possession of the stolen motorcycle. It was also learned at this time, that this individual had fled from law enforcement back in March on a motorcycle as well. The individual was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
ALMOUS GOVAN MCCOY, 30-year-old, white male of 1350 East Quitman Street Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY (greater than $1,000) and FELONY FLEEING. MCCOY’s bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court in the amount of $10,000. This case is still under investigation as investigators are speaking with law enforcement in Arkansas. Other charges may be pending in this manner.
