ALABAMA WOMAN CHARGED WITH DRUGS
May 10, 2019
On May 7, 2019, Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 25 in Iuka for an expired tag. The tag that was being displayed also appeared to be altered to appear it was in “current status”. Deputies made contact with the driver who informed them that she was coming from the Muscle Shoals area and headed to Tupelo. The driver then informed the deputies that she thinks she is lost. The driver appeared to be under the influence of some type of drug and the deputies asked and was given a Consent to Search. The deputies discovered numerous prescription pills (HYDROCODONE), which the driver did not have a prescription for at the time of stop. The driver was then arrested and transported to the Tishomingo County Jail. Once at the jail, the driver informed the deputies that she did not want to get caught bringing drugs into the jail and informed the deputies that she had some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE in her clothing. A female correction’s officer then removed two bags of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE from the driver.
KIMBERLY MITCHELL, 52-year-old, white female, of 205 Shaw Road Leighton, Alabama was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). MITCHELL’s bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court in the amount of $7,500.
