TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST
June 5, 2019
On June 5, 2019, Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Pleasant Hill Road and HWY 72 in the Iuka area for reckless driving. This was due to the deputies observing the vehicle chasing another vehicle down HWY 72. As the deputy was speaking to the driver, the deputy observed that the driver was extremely nervous. The deputy then observed a “meth pipe” in plain view in the console of the truck. At this time, the deputy placed the driver under arrest and a search of the vehicle turned up a large amount of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE. A firearm was also located in close proximity to the alleged illegal narcotic as well. The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
ANTHONY HAMM, 45-year-old, white, male of 185 Morris Hill Road, Cherokee, Alabama was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) – enhanced w/FIREARM. HAMM’s bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $7, 500.
