PATROL STOPS LEAD TO FELONY ARRESTS
August 9, 2016
On August 5, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff deputies observed a vehicle being driven in a careless manner so the deputies conducted a traffic stop on said vehicle on HWY 365 North in the Burnsville area. The deputy asked the driver for CONSENT TO SEARCH of the vehicle, which the driver gave. The search yielded approximately 35 OXYCODONE PILLS, to which the driver of the vehicle did not have a prescription. OXYCODONE is a scheduled narcotic and can only be possessed if a doctor has issued a prescription for said narcotic. Since the driver did not or was not able to provide a prescription, the driver was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
Arrested was, WILLIE HYATT, JR., 53-year-old white male, of 11330 HWY 315 North Water Valley, Mississippi. HYATT was charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (OXYCODONE).
On August 6, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 72 for reckless driving. During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy noticed that the driver of the vehicle appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic, due to the driver showing strange behavior toward the deputy. The deputy also could smell alleged MARIJUANA odor coming from the vehicle. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle, and a search yielded alleged MARIJUANA and a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE. The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
Arrested was, KASEY UTLEY, 28-year-old white female, of 986 CR 321 Iuka, Mississippi. UTLEY was charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). Justice Court set UTLEY’s bond a $5,000.00.
