INVESTIGATION LEADS TO TWO CHARGED WITH SALE OF DRUGS

INVESTIGATION LEADS TO TWO CHARGED WITH SALE OF DRUGS

September 20, 2019

On September 13, 2019, Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies arrested two individuals during a controlled stop.  Those individuals were then arrested and charged with the SELL OF NARCOTICS (METHAMPHETAMINE).  Narcotic Investigators for the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office state that the pair were a part of a prior round up stemming from drugs sells throughout the county.  The operation was considered successful due to the cooperation and assistance from several jurisdictions.  Both the individuals were transported to the Tishomingo County Jail and booked in on their charges.

BRIAN BRADFORD ARTIS, 41-year-old, white male of 409 West Eastport Street Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with SELL OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).  ARTIS’ bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $5,000.

MADISON ABBIGALE RHODES, 19-year-old, white female, of 19 CR 290 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with SELL OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). RHODES’ bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $5,000.

Sheriff Daugherty states that these jurisdictions like the State of Alabama, State of Tennessee, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN), Town of Burnsville, City of Belmont, City of Iuka, and the Town of Golden, has been a tremendous help in working together and sharing information and that it makes a big difference in these types of operations.  Also, Tishomingo County has seen a decrease in drug arrests over the past couple of years, and this is due, in part to the arrests of several larger dealers in the county and the Sheriff’s Office working in conjunction with the District Attorney’s Office, local churches and rehabilitation organizations to get help for first time offenders if they will take it.  Sheriff Daugherty states that we have seen several people become productive citizens here in Tishomingo County and go on to help other people with their addiction as well.

Sheriff John Daugherty
