TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARRESTS

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARRESTS

October 16, 2019

On October 14, 2019, Tishomingo County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 169 and HWY 72 on a vehicle for an expired tag.  The vehicle had left a residence that investigators have been watching due to alleged drug trafficking from other states.  As deputies approached the vehicle, they could smell an odor of MARIJUANA coming from inside the vehicle and the driver gave the deputies Consent to Search.  During the search, deputies found a large amount of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE on the passenger of the vehicle.  The passenger was immediately arrested and the driver was then found to have drug paraphernalia on them as well.

CONTRINA SAGELY, 55-year-old, white female of 4899 Jamestown Road Burlinson, Tennessee was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSON OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).  SAGELY's bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $5,000.

APRIL NEWMAN, 52-year-old, white female of 4 Hold Avenue Burnsville, Mississippi was officially charged with MISDEMEANOR DRUG PARAPHERNALIA as well as some traffic violations.  NEWMAN's bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $900 cash bond.
