AGENT LEE TARTT: REMEMBERED
February 20, 2020
Today, the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Office and the Tishomingo County Jail takes time to remember the life of Agent Lee Tartt.
Agent Lee Tartt was a member of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and was assigned to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety / Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team. Lee left his home in Grenada that night of February 19, 2016 to come and help not only his team but the citizens of Tishomingo County. Sadly, just after midnight, on February 20, 2016, Lee was killed in the line of duty while three other members of his team were severely wounded, responding to a barricaded subject with a weapon.
We honor Lee's memory every year at this time and we never forget his sacrifice that he gave for us. We also will never forget his family..who the family gave to us, their own protector, their husband, their father, on what would be the last evening at home.....to them, our hearts and our arms will always be open.
We ask the public as you come visit us, please stop and take a moment and reflect upon his memorial, remember what he gave up! You didn't know him... he didn't know us. Please pray for his family and continue to remember them. Please pray for us and our safety as well.
Agent James Lee Tartt... thank you for your service. You will never be forgotten! V-53
Sincerely
The Tishomingo County Sheriff's Office / Tishomingo County Jail
