DEPUTIES MAKE ARREST IN RESPOND TO A STABBING

On March 23, 2020, Tishomingo County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call of a fight at a residence located on CR 217 in the Burnsville area of Leedy Road. The Victim was able to inform 911 that he had been stabbed with a knife. Once deputies and EMS were on scene, a 71-year-old male was found in the residence, conscience, but suffering from an apparent stab wound to the back. Deputies were able to speak to the Victim and learn that the Victim's son had allegedly stabbed him. The alleged Suspect was still in the residence and was quickly detained after a brief struggle with law enforcement. The Victim was immediately transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later released. The Suspect was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
BRENT EDWARD AMERSON, 53-year-old, white male of 5085 Helekee Road Kapa'a, Hawaii was formally charged with AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE). AMERSON's bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $25,000.
