ALABAMA WOMAN ARRESTED FOR EMBEZZLEMENT

On February 23, 2021, a report was filed with the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Officer pertaining to an alleged embezzlement that had been discovered through a routine audit at Hellum's Trucking by the owners of the corporation. Investigators began working with the company and received documentation from the accounting firm that conducted the audit. Copies of the documented missing funds were also provided to investigators as well as a potential suspect. During the investigation, it was learned that approximately $10,000.00 had been embezzled and multiple payroll checks were forged, as well as hidden under false entries in the company's payroll ledger. the investigators were able to obtain an ARREST WARRANT for the alleged Suspect and on March 26, 2021, Colbert County Alabama Sheriff's Office located the alleged Suspect and the Suspect signed extradition back to Tishomingo County. The alleged Suspect was then officially charged and booked into the Tishomingo County Jail.
TELLIE HELLUMS, 44-year-old, white female of 16585 Mt. Hester Road Cherokee, Alabama was officially charged with EMBEZZLEMENT (1count) and FORGERY (1 count). HELLUMS' bond was set by Tishomingo County Justice Court Judge, Seth Adams in the amount of $15,000.
