MULTIPLE FELONY ARRESTS MADE

The following FELONY arrests were made in Tishomingo County by deputies within a 4-day period.

On September 2, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff Deputies stopped a vehicle at a local business in Iuka, due to some moving violations. The deputies had an OUTSTANDING WARRANT for the driver, KENNETH MOORE, for ASSAULT. MOORE was immediately placed under arrest and a search of his persons yielded alleged METHAMPHETAMINE being found on him. While the deputies were still there with MOORE, MOORE’s wife, CHRISTA MOORE, arrived on scene and she had an OUTSTANDING WARRANT for her arrest as well. The deputies then searched her vehicle and alleged METHAMPHETAMINE was found in her vehicle. Both were transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.

KENNETH MOORE, 54-year-old white male, of 608 Susanne Court Kearny, Missouri was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (MEHAMPHTEMAPHINE) as well as having an OUTSTANDING JUSTICE COURT WARRANT. KENNETH MOORE’s FELONY bond was set at $10,000.00 by Tishomingo Justice Court.

CHRISTA MOORE, 43-year-old white female, of 608 Susanne Court Kearny, Missouri was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) as well as having an OUTSTANDING JUSTICE COURT WARRANT. CHRISTA MOORE’s FELONY bond was set at $5,000.00 by Tishomingo Justice Court.

On September 3, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on CR 346. After stopping the vehicle, the deputies learned that the driver of the vehicle, DARREL MURRAY, had an OUTSTANDING WARRANT issued from Tishomingo County Justice Court. The deputy then placed MURRAY under arrest and a search of the vehicle yielded some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE hidden in a cigarette pack. The driver was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail, where a further check on the driver showed he has a FELONY WARRANT from the State of Oklahoma for DANGEROUS DRUGS.

DARRELL MURRAY, 48-year-old white male 18D CR 346 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) as well as the State of Oklahoma placing a hold on him once he bonded out. MURRAY’s FELONY bond was set at $10,000.00 by Tishomingo Justice Court.

Also on September 3, 2016 Tishomingo Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on CR 298 in the Burnsville area for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the driver appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic or alcohol. The deputy asked for permission to search the vehicle and was granted. The search yields some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE being found in the vehicle. The driver was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.

RONNIE CALTON, 43-year-old white male, 23 CR 212 Corinth, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE). CALTON had a hold placed on him by the MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.

Also on September 3, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department received word of an individual being in possession of some stolen property. The property, 2012 HONDA motorcycle was proven too had been reported stolen to the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department on July 12, 2016. The motorcycle was found at a residence in Alcorn County and members of the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department as well as the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department, spoke with the individuals at the residence. It was discovered that one of the individuals drove the stolen motorcycle from Tishomingo County the night prior and that person was detained and transported to the Tishomingo County Jail and the stolen motorcycle was hauled back to Tishomingo County.

AUSTIN PRYCE-JONES, 18-year-old white male of 1580 HWY 25 South Tishomingo, Mississippi was officially charged with POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY. Bond for AUSTIN PRYCE-JONES has been revoked by Tishomingo Justice Court, due to PRYCE-JONES currently being out on another FELONY BOND.

On September 6, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call in the Paden area of a white male getting into vehicles. Deputies arrive and do not locate the individual, but do get a name and description of the individual. Deputies learned that the individual is a CONVICTED FELON and also has OUTSTANDING WARRANTS with both Belmont Police Department and the Burnsville Police Department.

When a deputy checked on the same location later, the individual that the officers were told about was located on the property. The deputy noticed the individual having a “large knife” in his hands and instructed him to place the knife down. Once the individual came over to the deputy, the deputy began attempting to check him for more weapons. The individual began to resist the deputy and started hitting the deputy. Both the deputy and the individual fell to the ground where the individual attempted to grab the officer’s duty weapon. The deputy was able to regain control and secure the individual until backup officers arrived to assist in arresting the individual.

CHRISTOPHER ALLEN WHITFIELD, 33-year-old white male, 22 Railroad Drive Paden, Mississippi was officially charged with AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON POLICEMAN, POSSESSION OF WEAPON BY CONVICTED FELON, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE), POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA, RESISTING ARREST, and DISORDERLY CONDUCT. WHITFIELD is currently in custody of the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set.
