DEPUTIES CHASE STOLEN VEHICLE (UPDATE)

DEPUTIES CHASE STOLEN VEHICLE THROUGH COUNTY

November 7, 2016

***UPDATE***

The driver and passenger information was crossed up in the original Press Release as listed below.  Correction needs to be placed with the driver of the "STOLEN VEHICLE", a White Volkswagen, that was being driven by a KRISTY LUTTRELL, 23-year-old female of 509 Bynum Road, Fulton, Mississippi.  Ms. Luttrell was taken into custody and her passenger, an unnamed black male, fled the scene.  Ms. Luttrell is facing FELONY charges in Tishomingo County once she bonds out of Alcorn County Jail.

On November 1, 2016, Tishomingo Sheriff Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on HWY 72 in the Burnsville area. The vehicle in question was registered as a “STOLEN VEHICLE”, from the State of Indiana. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but was interrupted by another vehicle, with license plates also from the State of Indiana, attempted to interfere with the deputies attempting to make a traffic stop on the first vehicle. The “STOLEN VEHCILE” sped away at high speeds heading West on HWY 72 toward the Corinth area. The other vehicle that was from the State of Indiana was able to blend in with traffic once the primary vehicle sped off.

As the vehicle entered into the city limits of Corinth, Tishomingo Sheriff Deputies, discontinued chasing the fleeing vehicle but monitored the vehicle until other agencies could take over. The Mississippi Highway Patrol met the vehicle at a high rate of speed as it entered into Corinth and began chase after the vehicle. The vehicle eventually crashed at the Harper Square Mall and the passenger, a white female, was immediately apprehended. The driver of the vehicle, a black male, continued running West on foot, crossing Harper Road and going behind several businesses along HWY 72, before eventually running away from local Law Enforcement.

The female was transported to the Alcorn County Jail and was found to be from the State of Indiana as well as the alleged driver being from the State of Indiana as well.

Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department is currently assisting the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department, Corinth Police Department, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol, in searching for the alleged driver. Both the driver and the passenger are facing FELONY CHARGES.
