LOCAL AGENCIES WORK TOGETHER AND ARREST ONE FOR ENTICEMENT OF CHILD

December 15, 2016

The Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged CLIFFORD CARMAN SAPPINGTON, with ENTICEMENT OF A CHILD FOR SEXUAL PURPOSES. This arrest stemmed from an investigation that was initially conducted by the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department, that involved SAPPINGTON and a 13-year-old female Victim. During the initial investigation, Prentiss County investigators learned that the actual crime occurred in Tishomingo County. Prentiss County Sheriff officials then contacted the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department and informed of them of this situation. Tishomingo Sheriff Department investigators issued an ARREST WARRANT for SAPPINGTON who was living in the Prentiss County area at the time. Prentiss County turned SAPPINGTON over to Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies, where he was brought back and questioned about the allegation.

CLIFFORD CARMAN SAPPINGTON, 25-year-old, white male, of 10 CR 5066 Booneville, Mississippi was officially charged with ENTICEMENT OF A CHILD FOR SEXUAL PURPOSES. SAPPINGTON is currently in the custody of the Tishomingo County Jail with a $35,000.00 FELONY BOND set by Justice Court.

Sheriff John Daugherty stated “Arrests like this sometimes cannot be made without the cooperation from other law enforcement agencies.   I would like to thank Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar, and his investigators for a swift investigation into this crime, since our Victim is only 13 years old. We must always protect our children!”
