CAR THIEF ARRESTED

CAR THIEF ARRESTED

December 27, 2016

In the early morning hours of December 22, 2016, the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in Burnsville around the HWY 365 area in reference to a vehicle being stolen. Deputies spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who informed them that the stolen vehicle had a firearm inside as well as some Christmas presents for his family. The deputies took all the information pertaining to the vehicle and the firearm and filed a report as well as place the stolen goods on NCIC (National Crime Information Center) database.

Later that morning, Prentiss County Sheriff’s deputies contacted the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department that they have located the stolen vehicle off a side road of HWY 365 South, in Prentiss County. Prentiss County officials informed the Tishomingo Sheriff’s Department that a hunter spotted the vehicle in question, stuck in a ditch with a female driver slumped over the wheel. The hunter contacted 911 and Prentiss County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and took possession of the vehicle, the driver and located the reported stolen firearm. Tishomingo Sheriff’s Investigators arrived on scene and took possession of the vehicle, firearm, and the driver from Prentiss County Sheriff officials. The vehicle and firearm was released back to the original owner and the Christmas presents were still located in the vehicle unharmed. The driver was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.

ANGELINA MARIA WIGINTON, 26-year-old, white female, of 1209 Ash Street Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with GRAND LARCENY. WIGINTON remains in custody of the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set.
