ONE CHARGED WITH SHOOTING INTO A HOME

February 8, 2017

On February 6, 2017, Tishomingo Sheriff Deputies responded to a call of someone that had shot inside a residence on CR 344, close to the Goat Island area.  Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the Victim who explained that a man that lives down the road had come into their house and began shooting a rifle inside the home.  The Victim also stated that neither he nor his girlfriend were hit by the bullets that were fired in the home. Deputies then went to 9 CR 344 where they met a BRIAN SCOTT BERRYMAN.  BERRYMAN was arrested and admitted to going over to the neighbor’s home and firing his weapon inside it. The deputies also were able to recover a .22 rifle and a .380 pistol along with some narcotics that was in close proximity of the weapons.  It was later learned that BERRYMAN also was a WANTED PERSON due to a Parole Violation for the State of Mississippi.   BERRYMAN was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.

BRIAN SCOTT BERRYMAN, 53-year-old, white male, of 9 CR 344 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with SHOOTING INTO A DWELLING, POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON, FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (OXICODON) and FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (HYDROCODONE).  BERRYMAN also has a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for ABSCONDMENT.

BERRYMAN was convicted in Tishomingo Circuit Court in April 1989, to serve LIFE in the custody of the Department of Corrections of the crime of HOMICIDE and ARMED ROBBERY.  BERRYMAN was granted PAROLE on February 5, 2009 by the Parole Board and on March 5, 2013 a WARRANT for his arrest was issued by the MDOC for ABSCONDED SUPERVISION.

BERRYMAN is currently in custody awaiting his bond to be set on his new charges and will remain in custody until MDOC comes and removes him to their facility.
