DENNIS MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

On February 19, 2017, the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department was conducting a “SAFETY CHECK-POINT” around the area of CR 78 in Golden. A vehicle approached the officers and the deputies checked for any outstanding WARRANTS on the driver and the three occupants. One of the occupants had an OUTSTANDING JUSTICE COURT WARRANT for their arrest and when the deputies asked the individual to step out of the vehicle, some alleged SUBUTEX pills fell out of a flashlight that the individual had dropped as he was exiting the vehicle. The deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle and was able to locate some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE that was hidden in the vehicle. The individual with the WARRANT claimed possession of the narcotic(s) and was then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.
THOMAS GAGE SMITH, 25-year-old, white male of 18 CR 62 Dennis, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE(METHAMPHETAMINE) as well as SIMPLE POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (SUBUTEX). SMITH remains in the custody of the Tishomingo County Jail where he is awaiting his bond to be set by Justice Court.
