ACTIVE WARRANT LEADS TO DRUG ARREST OF A IUKA MAN

On February 23, 2017, Tishomingo Sheriff Deputies noticed a person at a local business that the deputy knew had an active arrest warrant.  The deputy approached the person after verifying the warrant and placed the person under arrest.  During the arrest, the deputy found some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE in the pocket of the person.  The deputy then transported the individual to the Tishomingo County Jail.

CAGEL LEE SMITH, 26-year-old, 171 CR 246 Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).  SMITH remains in custody at the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set by Justice Court.
