CIVILIAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO GIVE CONTRABAND TO INMATES

On February 23, 2017, an Iuka man was seen by Tishomingo Sheriff officials, attempting to give some contraband to an inmate who was on yard call. Tishomingo County Correctional Officers quickly confronted the man and held him until deputies could get to the jail. As the deputies began to charge the individual, a search of his person yielded some alleged METHAMPHETAMINE found in the pocket of the man. The deputies then handed him over to the Correctional Officers to be booked.
JOSH PARSONS, 32-year-old, white male, Pick Wick Circle, Iuka, Mississippi was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE) and INTRODUCING CONTRABAND INTO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. PARSONS remains in custody at the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set by Justice Court.
